Mayor's Team Challenge

The Mayor's Team Challenge is a community-driven initiative created to expand charitable giving to local organizations across Albuquerque and Central New Mexico. This team-based competition brings together businesses, organizations, families, and community groups to participate in race weekend while supporting meaningful causes. Teams compete for the fastest combined race times across multiple distances, creating a fun and competitive environment rooted in purpose. The Challenge is designed to unite the community, grow participation, and make a lasting impact beyond race day. Four nonprofit organizations have been selected as beneficiaries of the Mayor's Team Challenge, with proceeds supporting their important work in our community.

How The Challenge Works
Each team consists of five participants, with each member registering for a different race distance within the Duke City Marathon.
Team Race Breakdown
- Participant 1: Half Marathon
- Participant 2: 10K Run
- Participant 3: 10K Walk
- Participant 4: 5K Run
- Participant 5: 5K Walk
This format ensures that every team is represented across all race categories.
Scoring
- Each participant completes their assigned race
- All five race times are combined for a total team time
- Teams with the lowest combined time in their division win
Awards
- Top teams in each category will receive recognition and awards.
