Working with City of Albuquerque officials, and as a public health precaution, the Big 5 Sporting Goods Duke City Marathon is rescheduling the 2020 races until March 28, 2021. We have determined this to be the best course of action to ensure the kind of quality race that our participants, sponsors and volunteers have all come to expect from the Duke City Marathon. Safety has always been at the forefront of the Duke City Marathon, and to continue promoting a fun and healthy lifestyle, we will be offering three options for those who have already registered for a 2020 race.

DETAILS ON EACH OPTION

  • Postponement
    Join us for the weekend of March 27 & 28, 2021 as we plan to host the 37th annual Duke City Marathon. You or your relay team will be automatically entered in your original race distance.

  • Virtual Race
    Complete your race distance on October 17 or 18, send us a photo of you and your results to info@dukecitymarathon.com. Your results will be entered as a participant in the 37th Annual Duke City Marathon!

  • Deferral
    Free deferral to the 2021 Duke City Marathon, scheduled for October 16 & 17. You or your team will be automatically entered in your original race distance.

If you are choosing Option #1 and plan on racing in March, there is no need to do anything. You’re automatically registered.

Additionally, discounts will be provided to those competing in both 2021 Duke City Marathon races!

Having this year's race in March will allow you to Double The Fun In '21! We look forward to seeing you in March and October of 2021.

Question: Can I change events if I defer?
Answer: Yes, and we are waiving the race change fee if this is done by December 31, 2020. After that, there is a $15 transfer fee, and the higher of the two entry fees will apply. There will be no refunds if you are changing to an event with a lower registration fee. To change your race, please call 505-880-1414.

Question: Can I transfer my race entry?
Answer: Sorry, we do not allow you to transfer the registration into someone else’s name.

Question: Will I receive a confirmation email of my deferral or virtual choice? 
Answer: Yes, to the email address you used when registering.

Question: When will registration for the 2021 Duke City Marathon open?
Answer: Registration for the October 17, 2021 race will open in January. All those who race in both 2021 events receive a registration discount!

Question: When will I receive my race packet?
Answer: If you register before February 26, 2021, then you can take advantage of Early Packet Pick Up, which takes place at Big 5 Sporting Goods (2720 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110) on Tuesday, March 23 through Friday, March 26. All packets will then be at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Saturday, March 27. All packets will be distributed with your timing chip affixed to your race bib. Remember to bring them with you on Race Day.

Question: I am running the virtual race, when will I receive my packet?
Answer: All virtual packets will be mailed Friday, March 19 via priority mail, and will include your shirt, race bib and finisher medal, if you have submitted your official time and picture.

Question: What if my address has changed since I registered?
Answer: Please notify us if your address has changed by emailing your name, old address and new address to info@dukecitymarathon.com.
